Email address: The special effect of these bookmarks (or edges) developed by very long picots woven through each other. This can be done with straight picots ( pattern A or B) or with twisted Picots. Use one shuttle and ball thread. Abbrev: Ch = chains: R= Ring: ds = Double stitch: + Picot:+ = join. Lpic = a picot of one centimeter ( which equals 0.3937 of an inch) , you can use a picot gauge for that, a carton strip of 2 centermeters, so all picot will be the same length. It is important to look at the picture very well to make the connections.
R: 4-4-4-4.
R: 4 4 + second
picot of last ring, 4 4. Repeat rings and chains until you have nine chains ( and two rings at the end.) Upper chain: 4 1 1- 4, repeat this 4 times. There are now 5 groups of 3 picots. For the second row: R 4 4 4 4.; R 4 4 4- 4. Chains with joins of the long picots, start with the first picot of the second group( of long picots) After that also connect the second and third picot of the second group. For the joining of the first group of picots, Weave these through the already joined picots, begin with the first picot of the first group, and then the second and third picot. See picture. The chain looks as follows: Ch 4+ 1+ 1+ 4+ 1+ 1+ 4. Repeat Rings as in first row. Repeat chains as just mentioned. End with an Upper Chain. |
